Have always checked these weird messages even "Friend" requests too. I "left click" mouse over image, click "Search Google for image" works fairly well and have found these "cut and paste" image profile pics but this site looks much better! Will indeed give it a go. Thanks.

Scammers are getting more sophisticated than that. They can alter the pictures or use pictures that have never been used before. Tin doesn’t do a great job if the picture is not public.

I did that years ago. I haven't done that lately. For me, another way to tell if they are scammers impersonating someone is when that person sends you a freind request, and you look at their profile to see all their friends and posts, and if they have only a few posts, that is a red flag for me, which leads me to believe they are scammers. I do not answer any messages, and delete the the request.

Hi. I just used TinEye tonight to investigate if a profile was fake or not on facebook and I got this message: Why there are no matches for your image:
Your image may be unique, and doesn't appear anywhere on the web. This happens with personal photographs, artwork, or other original images.
If you expected to find matches, TinEye may not have crawled the website or page where your image appears. TinEye constantly crawls the web and adds tens of millions of new images to the TinEye index every month.
TinEye finds exact and altered copies of images by looking at the actual pixels, but it doesn't know what the image represents (a chair, a waterfall, etc.). TinEye doesn't identify people or objects in an image. Does this mean that the profile is legit?

Lately I've been noticing fake accounts have more and more details and pictures in their accounts to look more believable. But can't hide everything. Because scrolling down their accounts you'll notice the time stamp on all the posts, they'll say post as added an hour ago.

Ok now how do you find the real person of that profile pic that this person has taken from for scamming ? I've had it happen to me recently and I just wanna let her know that this person is using there profile pic as there own identity.

Thank you, your video was a big help! I think what you are doing is awesome! I was contacted by a person from Facebook saying my email was picked by a computer to win money. I never did believe it, but looked it on online and found your video. By using Tineye I found she was a fraud although "they" have a Facebook account saying they work for Facebook. I am going to look into reporting this profile to Facebook.

I get a lot of fake people adding me, refering to some kind of weird "dating" site. I tracked a user down to Ivory Coast, they were dumb enough to click a link i sent to get their IP. It's becoming a real plague...

I had a fake profile trying to buy my page however "her" profile picture doesn't show on google or TinEye when reverse searching it. Oh well, I know it's fake anyway.

My laptop is down & for now dont have the funds to get it repaired. But can this be done by using a cell for what you speak of. For instance the fake Facebook lottery scammers is what im being harassed of late. I know from alot of research there is no fb lottery & such. But would like to track em down n have enough proof that i can report em & make it easier for law enforcement to find em. So again can this be done by cell
