Well, to be honest, there is not a straight answer to what’s the warmest place in Alaska as there are a few different places that could take the title, depending on what you are looking for.
For example, if you want to find the warmest place in Alaska during the winter months, then your best bet would be to head to the southcentral region of the state, around Anchorage.
This is because this area is more protected from the cold Arctic winds that can sweep down and make other parts of Alaska feel very chilly indeed.
If, on the other hand, you are looking for the warmest place in Alaska during the summer months, then you might want to consider heading to Fairbanks. This is because this city is located further up north and therefore experiences more hours of sunlight than anywhere else in the state, so it can get quite warm during the peak of summer.
Now, if you are looking for a place that offers moderate year-round temperatures, you should consider Southeast Alaska and cities like Sitka, Angoon, and Haines.

The warmest weather in Alaska typically occurs during the summer months, from June through August. During this time, the average statewide temperature is a comfortable 58.3 degrees Fahrenheit.
Of course, there are parts of Alaska that experience much warmer temperatures than this (like Fairbanks!).
Where Is The Best Weather In Alaska?
The best weather in Alaska can be found in the Southeast region of the state, around cities like Sitka.
Sitka, known for its charming harbor and scenic beauty, is also blessed with a moderate year-round climate, with average temperatures ranging from 48 degrees Fahrenheit in January to 64 degrees Fahrenheit in July.
Visiting Sitka is definitely worth considering if you plan on exploring the outer coast of Alaska’s Inside Passage.

The coldest temperatures ever recorded in Alaska occurred in Prospect Creek Camp (-80 Fahrenheit), Manley Hot Springs (-77 Fahrenheit), and Tanana (-17).

If you are looking for the best places to visit in Alaska in winter, then you should consider heading to the southcentral region of the state, around Anchorage.
From Anchorage, you can visit Seward, Whittier, Homer, and Hope. Also, Girdwood is located a short drive away from Anchorage and has amazing skiing.

Summer is a good time to visit pretty much any place in Alaska.
Personally, I would recommend heading to Wrangell-St. Elias National Park & Preserve and Denali National Park, since the nice weather makes them way easier to explore.
Barrow, the northernmost point in Alaska, is also an epic place to visit during summer.
